ACTION Space Doctor is provided as a disk image. Disk images allow you to easily create floppy disks which are required to convert your startup disk to HFS+. To mount the disk image or make a bootable floppy, you will need a copy of Disk Copy.

We have included active bookmarks to this site in the "Bookmarks to Disk Copy" folder. You can also download Disk Copy from the Apple web site at <www.apple.com> (go to the products page select software downloads and search for Disk Copy). Disk Copy is Free. You may also use ShrinkWrap from Aladdin Systems.
ACTION Space Doctor is provided as a disk image due to the fact that you cannot convert the drive you are booted from. The bootable disk image allows people with only one drive to boot their Macintosh from the floppy and convert their hard drive. If you have more than one hard drive that you can boot your Macintosh from, you can either create a floppy from the image or mount the image with Disk Copy. Once the floppy (or image) is mounted, just double click on the ACTION Space Doctor application.
To create a floppy from the image, launch Disk Copy, go to the "Utilities" menu in the menu bar and select "Make a Floppy". An open dialog will prompt you for the image file, select "Space Doctor.img". You will then be prompted to insert a high density floppy. When the image has been written to the floppy, it will be automatically ejected.
To convert your drive(s), restart your Macintosh and insert the disk as soon as you hear the normal start up sound. Your Mac will boot from the floppy and ACTION Space Doctor will launch automatically. At this point, you may choose to use it in demo mode to see how much space you can recover or, if you have purchased ACTION Space Doctor, serialize the product and convert your disk(s) to HFS+.

ACTION Space Doctor is designed to be completely safe. Should a problem occur during your conversion process (power outage, cord kicked out of the wall, etc) simply run ACTION Space Doctor again and your drive will be restored. After a successful conversion you will not be able to revert to HFS.
